SF Design-Thinking Fellows Program
The SF Design Thinking Fellows Program was a 6-week, experimental creativity focused summer program that Alex created in 2018 for high school students of color at SFUSD in collaboration with the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, the Human Rights Commission of San Francisco, and Imprint City SF. It taught students skills in design-thinking and exposed them to local artists and arts organizations in San Francisco as well as fundamentals of artistic practice across multiple disciplines. They were then given the opportunity to apply those skills toward issues facing the local community. The project was then picked up for an expansion at the Office of Economic and Workforce Development at the City and County of San Francisco.
